Willy Laury is internationally recognized for his exceptional artistry as a dancer and performer. He spent seven years with the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater — the world’s largest contemporary dance company — and has performed with major companies including The Metropolitan Opera NY, Ballet X, Morphoses, Michael Clark Company and appeared as a guest artist with Incidence Chorégraphique of the Opéra National de Paris. Throughout his career, Willy has collaborated with visionary artistic directors such as Franco Dragone, Judith Jamison and Francesca Harper . Alongside his performance work, he created original productions for Grammy Award winning Honey Dijon, Rupaul’s Drag Race Winner Nymphia Wind, Vidal Sassoon in London, Medley Academy in Paris, The Public Theater in New York City, and for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Danone Nations Cup in 2018. Driven by a deep passion for performance, Willy expanded into theater, training in New York City with Matthew Corzine. This pivotal experience shaped a distinctive artistic voice — one that fuses his heritage, his passion for fashion, and the diverse cultural influences encountered throughout his international career. Today, Willy Laury is a stage & film director, choreographer, and performer, and serves as the artistic director of EFFRONTÉS.

Willy Laury s’est imposé sur la scène internationale comme un danseur et interprète d’exception. Pendant sept ans, il est membre de l’Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, avant de se produire au sein de compagnies prestigieuses telles que le Metropolitan Opera de New York, BalletX, Morphoses, la Michael Clark Company à Londres, ainsi qu’en tant qu’artiste invité avec Incidence Chorégraphique de l’Opéra national de Paris. Au fil de son parcours, il collabore avec des directeurs artistiques visionnaires parmi lesquels Franco Dragone, Judith Jamison et Francesca Harper, affinant une signature artistique exigeante et singulière.

Parallèlement à sa carrière d’interprète, il conçoit et met en scène des concept shows originaux dans la culture pop pour Grammy Awards winner Honey Dijon, Nymphia Wind (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Vidal Sassoon Londres, la Medley Academy à Paris, The Public Theater à New York, ainsi que les cérémonies d’ouverture et de clôture de la Danone Nations Cup en 2018 à New York.

Animé par une profonde exigence scénique, il se tourne naturellement vers le théâtre et se forme à New York auprès de Matthew Corzine. Cette étape marque un tournant décisif, nourrissant une écriture artistique personnelle, à la croisée du mouvement, de la mode et des cultures qui jalonnent son parcours international.

Aujourd’hui, Willy  est metteur en scène pour le théâtre et le cinéma, chorégraphe et interprète. Il assure également la direction artistique d’EFFRONTÉS.
